Frank Sausage Revives Garden Gnomes, One Whimsical Creation at a Time

Local man Frank Sausage has taken on the monumental task of bringing back the humble garden gnome. Sausage, a resident of Boring, Oregon, has set up a tiny workshop in his basement to craft the perfect garden gnome to restore his community.

Sausage checks on his thousands of gnomes every day, making sure they have enough paint, adjusting their hats to the perfect angle and inspecting their beards to ensure they’re fluffy enough. His garage-turned-workshop is set up to simulate the perfect gnome atmosphere, with a constant supply of fake flowers and miniature picket fences.

In the winter, Sausage braves the cold air of his basement to make sure the gnomes are warm and toasty. In the summer, he sweats his way through gnome repairs, often donning sunglasses to protect his eyes from the bright, sunny atmosphere.

“People don’t understand the importance of the garden gnome,” says Sausage. “But they bring joy and whimsy to any garden. That’s why I’m dedicated to restoring them to their former glory.”

Despite some raised eyebrows from his neighbors, Sausage remains committed to his mission. He hopes to one day see every garden in Boring, Oregon adorned with a trusty, pink-cheeked gnome.
