That’s right, you read that correctly. The notorious group, who have been stealing sensitive student records and photos of cancer patients, have resorted to releasing their own brand of content in an attempt to get their victims to pay up.
“Think about it,” says the group’s leader, Bozo the Hacker. “Who can resist a photo of a clown in full regalia, holding a sensitive piece of data? It’s just too darn funny to resist!”
Their tactic seems to be working. Within hours of releasing a photo of a clown holding a photo of a cancer patient, several victims rushed to the group’s payment portal, begging for their data back.
“We never would have thought that our clown photos would be such a hit,” says Bozo. “But hey, if it works, it works!”
The group has since released several more photos, featuring clowns reading sensitive student records and holding files labeled “Top Secret.” With each new release, their victim count grows.
“I can’t even be mad,” says one victim, who wishes to remain anonymous. “I mean, who wouldn’t pay to have their name attached to a clown photo like that?”
