In an unexpected turn of events, the government’s latest deal has hit a roadblock as union members refuse to back it. “They just don’t think it’s funny enough,” says spokesperson Larry Jones, “and frankly, we’re struggling to see the humor too.”
The deal, which was meant to secure funding for a nationwide comedy tour, has been in the works for months. But without the union’s approval, it looks like it might not happen.
“We’ve worked so hard on this,” laments government official Roger Smith. “We just don’t know what to do now. Maybe we should have hired some better joke writers.”
To make matters worse, the government still needs to come up with the funds to pay for the tour. “It’s like the punchline of a bad joke,” says Chris Mason. “We want to do this tour, but the money just isn’t there.”
As it stands, the future of the comedy tour is uncertain. But one thing is for sure – if the government wants to get its deal approved, it’s going to have to step up its comedy game. Maybe they should consider hiring some renowned comedians instead?
