In a recent study conducted by the prestigious Institute of Made-Up Statistics, it has been determined that drinking and tweeting may be one of the most dangerous combinations known to man. We spoke to a few individuals who fell victim to the pitfalls of drunk tweeting, and their stories will make you laugh, cry, and maybe even cringe.
First up is our friend Jerry. Jerry was out with his buddies one night and decided to have a few too many drinks. Next thing he knows, he’s stumbled home and started tweeting about how much he loves his ex-girlfriend, Jane. The only problem is, Jane follows him on Twitter and was not amused. In fact, she replied to his tweet telling him she has a restraining order against him. Ouch.
Next, we have Amanda. Amanda is known for being a bit of a wild child, and her tweets prove it. One night, she got especially drunk and decided to tweet about how she was going to quit her job the next day. Well, the next day came and Amanda was promptly fired. Let’s just say, her boss didn’t appreciate her drunken rants about how much she hated her job.
Last but not least, meet Jake. Jake is a big fan of politics and often feels the need to voice his opinions on Twitter. One night, he had one too many drinks and started tweeting about how he thinks the moon landing was faked. This led to an all-out Twitter war with some very passionate space enthusiasts. Needless to say, Jake lost that battle.
So, the moral of the story is clear: Don’t drink and tweet. You may regret it in the morning, or worse, lose your job and friends. Stay sober, and social media will thank you.
