European regulators raise alarm over “cooties” risk from bank contagion

In a shocking turn of events, top banking officials in Europe have expressed concerns about the risk of “cooties” spreading from a certain bank to the rest of the sector.

According to insider sources, the bank in question is known as “Chase Me Daddy” and has been spotted playing with the other banks at recess. However, regulators fear that the bank may have contracted some unknown contagion that could spread to the other banks like wildfire.

“We just can’t take any chances,” said one regulator, who wished to remain anonymous. “We’ve seen what happens when these things get out of hand. Before you know it, we’ll have a full-blown case of ‘the lurgi’ on our hands.”

In response to the concerns, Chase Me Daddy has been placed in a separate area of the playground, where it has been instructed to keep its hands to itself and avoid any contact with the other banks. Meanwhile, the other banks have been given strict instructions to wash their hands regularly and avoid sharing any toys or assets.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, some have found the whole thing rather amusing, with one analyst jokingly suggesting that the bank should be renamed “Chase Me Germs” to reflect its new reputation.

Only time will tell whether the contagion fears will subside, or whether the banking sector will be forced to endure another round of cooties.
