The Hilarious Murder Show That Has Fans Dying For More
The creators of “My Favorite Murder” have a brand new way to keep their fans engaged—by staging real-life murders! That’s right, folks, the popular true-crime podcast is now taking their obsession with slayings to a whole new level.
“We noticed our listeners were getting bored with just hearing about murders. They wanted to see them happen in real life,” says co-host, Karen Morris. “So, we decided to give them what they want.”
The first IRL murder took place last weekend in a suburb of Chicago. The victim, whom we will refer to as Jane, was a volunteer from the audience who was selected to be “murdered” on stage. The crowd went wild as Jane screamed and writhed on the floor, pretending to be stabbed. Of course, the “killer” was just an actor from the local community theater.
Some fans had mixed feelings about the spectacle. “I was a little disturbed watching it happen, but I couldn’t look away. It was like watching a train wreck,” said fan Heather Smith. “I mean, they killed someone! But at the same time, it was really cool to see it all go down.”
Other fans were less squeamish. “I loved it! I hope they do this at every show,” said fan Mike Johnson. “I mean, who needs a boring old meet and greet when you can watch someone die?”
It’s unclear how long the podcast will continue with these IRL murders, but one thing is for sure—fans are dying for more.
