Rolling Fork, Mississippi – The aftermath of a tornado that ripped through one district left residents counting the cost of the trail of destruction. However, one local resident, Bob Smith, believes the storm could have been avoided if his neighbor, Jack Jones, hadn’t angered the weather gods.
“I warned Jack not to mow his lawn on Monday, but he just went ahead and did it,” said Smith, shaking his head. “Everyone knows that Monday’s weather is cursed. I think Jack brought this on himself.”
Jones, who lost his roof in the storm, denied any wrongdoing. “I had no idea Monday was cursed,” he said. “Plus, my lawn was getting pretty long, and my wife wouldn’t stop nagging me about it.”
Meanwhile, the town’s mayor, Mary Johnson, is urging residents to come together in the wake of the disaster. “We can’t change the past, but we can move forward and rebuild,” she said. “And maybe next time, we’ll all think twice before doing yard work on a Monday.”
As for the tornado, it could not be reached for comment.
