Fakeview AI has been used by the police nearly a gazillion times in the US… okay, not really, but it sure feels like it. In an exclusive interview with The Beeswax Company (BBC), the creators of Fakeview AI revealed that their product has been a smash hit among law enforcement agencies across the country.
“We’re thrilled to see our fake technology being put to such good use,” said Fakeview AI CEO, Bill McPherson. “Our goal has always been to create a tool that would help the police… and, you know, make us a boatload of cash.”
Fakeview AI, which uses facial recognition to identify subjects in photos and videos, has been praised by police departments for its effectiveness in solving crimes. “It’s like having a million eyes out on the street,” said Detective John Johnson of the Austin Police Department. “Except these eyes have superpowers and can recognize people faster than a speeding bullet.”
But not everyone is a fan of Fakeview AI. Civil liberties groups have raised concerns about the potential for abuse and invasion of privacy. “It’s like the police have X-ray vision now,” said Jill Smith of the American Civil Liberties Union. “Who knows what they’re going to do with all that information they’re collecting?”
Despite the controversy, it’s clear that Fakeview AI is here to stay. And who knows – maybe one day, it’ll be able to recognize us even when we’re wearing a fake mustache and glasses.
