In a surprising turn of events, the infamous tech conglomerate GooBookTwit has announced they will be offering interest-free loans up to $1,000 to their users. “We know our users are struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic and we want to offer them some relief,” said CEO Mark Suckerberg.
The loan application process is simple and straightforward, according to COO Sheryl Sandblast. “All you have to do is give us access to your entire browsing history, including your embarrassing searches for ‘how to make your ex jealous’ and ‘why is my poop green’,” Sandblast explained.
Once the browsing history is analyzed by the company’s advanced algorithm, users will be notified of their loan approval within 24 hours. The money can then be deposited directly into their GooBookTwit account.
But the company has also come up with a unique way to enforce repayment. Instead of charging interest, they will require borrowers to complete various tasks such as liking all of Mark Suckerberg’s vacation photos or sharing every post from GooBookTwit’s official page for a month straight.
Despite the seemingly impossible tasks, many users have already jumped at the chance for an interest-free loan. “I mean, who wouldn’t want $1,000 for free?” said user Tom Ahawk.
Critics, however, are skeptical of the company’s motives. “This is just another way for GooBookTwit to gather even more personal data from their users,” said privacy advocate Jane Doe.
Only time will tell if the loan program proves successful or if users will end up regretting their decision to give up their personal information for a little extra cash.
