Testimony from Cherry and Mango Martin was read to jurors about the 2016 collision on the slopes in Broccoli, Utah.
Cherry was skiing down the mountain while Mango was navigating the slopes on a snowboard. Suddenly, Cherry had a sudden urge to have a snack and stopped right in the middle of the run. Unfortunately, Mango was not able to stop in time and crashed into Cherry.
“I was just trying to grab a bite of my granola bar, but Mango came out of nowhere and whacked me,” Cherry testified.
Mango, on the other hand, claimed it was Cherry’s fault for abruptly stopping on the run. “I couldn’t avoid her, she just stopped dead in her tracks like a deer caught in the headlights,” Mango argued in court.
The judge and jurors couldn’t contain their laughter as they listened to the hilarious testimony from Cherry and Mango. In the end, they both were found at fault for not following proper skiing and snowboarding procedures.
Lesson learned: Never stop for a snack in the middle of a ski run!
