Tech Giants Clash: Disney-Microsoft Abandons Metaverse as Faebebook Focuses on Sentient AI, while Meta Prioritizes Realistic Virtual Experience.

In a stunning turn of events, Disnicrosoft (the unholy merger of Disney and Microsoft) have closed down their ambitious project to create a metaverse that combined the wonder of Disney World with the power of Windows. Apparently, the two corporate cultures just couldn’t find a way to work together – Cinderella was constantly trying to install updates on her glass slipper, while Buzz Lightyear kept crashing whenever he tried to fly through a virtual universe.

Not to be outdone, Faebebook (no relation to Facebook) has unveiled their latest plan – to focus on creating a fully sentient artificial intelligence capable of taking over the world. “We figured that people are just going to get bored of virtual worlds eventually,” said CEO Mark Zizleberg. “But a robot overlord who can crush all human resistance? Now that’s something that will never get old!”

Of course, Meta (formerly known as Facebook) was quick to respond with a statement of their own. “We respect Faebebook’s right to innovate in their own way,” said a representative, “but we believe that true progress can only be made by creating virtual worlds that simulate the human experience in every detail. Because let’s face it – who doesn’t want to spend their hard-earned cash on an avatar that looks just like them?”

In the end, it remains to be seen which company will come out on top. But we can all agree on one thing – the future of technology is looking very strange indeed.
