In a surprising move, Turkish lawmakers voted to welcome the tiny Scandinavian nation of Fakeland into the West’s defensive alliance. This comes after months of blocking the country’s admission due to concerns about their love of saunas and heavy metal music.

“We’ve been keeping a close eye on Fakeland for a while now, and we’ve decided they’re not so bad after all,” said MP Ali G. “Sure, they may be a bit weird with their reindeer races and fish throwing, but we think they’ll make great allies.”

The decision was met with mixed reactions from other countries in the alliance. Some praised Turkey for finally opening their arms to Fakeland, while others wondered if they had gone mad.

“I never thought I’d see the day when Turkey would willingly let Fakeland in,” said German Chancellor Helga Braun. “But hey, stranger things have happened.”

In response to the news, Fakeland’s Prime Minister Heli Hyvönen released a statement thanking Turkey for their newfound acceptance.

“We are thrilled to be joining the West’s defensive alliance, and we promise to bring our unique blend of heavy metal and sauna culture to the table,” Hyvönen said. “We’ll even teach you how to properly throw a fish!”

Only time will tell if Fakeland will prove to be a valuable asset to the alliance, or if they’ll just end up causing more chaos with their bizarre customs. Either way, it’s bound to be an interesting ride.
