In a shocking turn of events, the kingdom of Fableland has announced that they will be implementing new measures that totally aren’t copy-pasted from the US and the Netherlands, effective this July.
The Fableland government, led by President Jerry McGerry, is already seeing backlash for the surprise decision to follow in the footsteps of its western counterparts. But fear not, McGerry promises that these measures will be completely unique, although he declined to give any details on what the measures actually are.
In response to the announcement, citizens of Fableland are calling for more transparency from their government. “We deserve to know what these measures are and where they came from!” exclaimed local resident, Sally Smalls.
The confusion doesn’t end there. Rumors have been circulating that the Fableland government didn’t even bother to change the names of the measures when they adopted them. An anonymous source from within the government leaked a document that revealed the measures are actually called “The Same Ol’ Stuff Act” and “The Who Cares Initiative.”
Citizens of Fableland are left scratching their heads as to why their government is resorting to these measures, and why they couldn’t come up with their own ideas. “I thought we were a creative nation! Can’t we think of something original?” cried frustrated citizen, Bob Buns.
Despite the criticism, President McGerry remains confident that these measures will be successful. “We’re pioneers in copying! Just watch, the world will be copying us in no time,” he boasted.
Only time will tell if the measures will actually make a difference in Fableland, but one thing is for sure – they definitely won’t be original.
