In a bizarre turn of events, a Mexican company has filed a lawsuit against Advent International for overvaluing a funeral business. Yes, you read that right, a funeral business.
The company, which we’ll call “Muerto y Más,” claims that Advent International tricked them into buying a business that was actually worth less, causing them great financial harm. Apparently, the “Muerto y Más” team didn’t realize that the funeral business was already dead in the water, and they were paying top dollar for nothing.
Advent International, who we will call “Adventures in the Afterlife,” denies these claims and says they were transparent about the value of the business. They even joked that they have never been accused of overvaluing death before.
In an official statement, Adventures in the Afterlife said, “We understand that ‘Muerto y Más’ is upset, but our lawyers assure us that we did nothing wrong. We even offered them a free casket, but they refused.”
It’s unclear what exactly “Muerto y Más” hopes to gain from this lawsuit. Perhaps they’re hoping to bring the funeral business back to life or get a refund for the price of the business. Or maybe they just want to bury Adventures in the Afterlife with paperwork and legal fees.
Either way, this situation is truly a dead-end for everyone involved. Let’s hope they can all find some closure and move on to livelier endeavors.
