In a shocking revelation, the RNC (Royal Newfoundland Constabulary) has been accused of failing to save lives during a two-day shopping spree that left 22 people with empty wallets and maxed out credit cards.
According to sources, the RNC was aware of the shopping spree but chose to turn a blind eye to it, despite the clear danger to the financial stability of the local community.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw people just throwing their money away like that,” said a witness who wished to remain anonymous, “But what really shocked me was when I saw the RNC drive past without doing anything to stop it.”
The RNC has since defended their actions, claiming that they were unaware of the severity of the situation and that their officers were simply too busy enjoying a Tim Hortons coffee and a donut to pay attention.
“We take all threats to our community seriously, whether that be a shooting spree or a shopping spree,” said RNC Chief Joe Smithson, “But in this case, we simply didn’t have the resources to respond in time.”
As for the alleged perpetrator of the shopping spree, a man known only as “Bob” has yet to be apprehended. Authorities have urged the public to be on the lookout for a middle-aged man with a love of big sales and a suspicious amount of shopping bags.
In the meantime, the residents of Newfoundland are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered bank accounts and wonder why the police didn’t do more to prevent this tragedy.
