In a bizarre turn of events, three Blunderland men were prosecuted under a law that criminalises “ridicule” of religious texts – simply for making jokes! Yes, you heard that right ladies and gentlemen, joke-making has officially become a criminal offence in Blunderland.
According to sources, the men – known as Chuck, Larry, and Barry – were hanging out at their local pub (which shall remain unnamed for legal reasons) and, in a fit of humour, started cracking jokes about various religious texts. Little did they know, their words were being overheard by a nearby undercover cop, who immediately reported them to the authorities.
Before they knew it, Chuck, Larry, and Barry were hauled off to court and charged with “ridicule” of religious texts. The judge presiding over the case declared that their jokes were “offensive” and “disrespectful” to the religion in question.
The three men were flabbergasted. “We were just having a laugh!” exclaimed a shocked Larry. “We didn’t mean to offend anyone.”
But apparently, in Blunderland, making jokes is no laughing matter. The law is the law, and it must be enforced at all costs, even if it means prosecuting innocent jokesters.
The case has sparked outrage among comedians and free speech activists, who are calling it a blatant violation of basic human rights.
