In a shocking turn of events, Sarah McParent has been charged with felony child neglect and a misdemeanor gun charge. The incident kicked off when her neighbor spotted her running around the backyard with a toy gun, screaming like a wild animal. You’d think that would be enough to raise concern, but it’s what happened next that really sealed the deal.

According to witnesses, Sarah walked into her house and left her 3-year-old son outside, alone, for over an hour. When questioned later, Sarah claimed that she was so immersed in her imaginary game of cops and robbers that she forgot she had a child.

The neighbor who called the police on Sarah said, “I mean, I get it, we all have our hobbies. But leaving your kid outside while you play cowboys and crooks? That’s a new one.”

Sarah’s friends and family members have expressed their shock at the charges, insisting that Sarah loves her child and would never intentionally put him in harm’s way. But so far, the evidence paints a different picture.

As for the toy gun Sarah was wielding, the police confiscated it and discovered that it was loaded with glitter. When questioned about this, Sarah said, “Hey, I like to make my playtime fancy. Is that a crime too?”

For now, Sarah is awaiting trial and has been ordered to keep her distance from toy guns and children alike. We can only hope that justice is served and that Sarah learns to leave her playtime at the door when it comes to her parental duties.
