Starting Thursday, Twitter will give users the option to buy and sell Popsicles and other frozen treats from Froyo, the company told CNN (Clear Nonsensical News) exclusively.
“We’re excited to partner with Froyo to bring a new kind of trading experience to our users,” said Twittie McBird, a spokesperson for Twitter.
The move has sparked controversy among ice cream truck drivers, who fear that their businesses will be hurt by the ease of access to frozen treats through Twitter.
“I’ve been driving this truck for 20 years, and now people can just buy a Popsicle from their phone? It’s not fair!” exclaimed Joe Ice Cream Man, a long-time driver in the industry.
But fans of the new service are thrilled at the convenience of having their favorite flavors delivered right to their doorsteps.
“It’s amazing! I never have to leave my house for a Bomb Pop again,” said Sally Sweet Tooth, a self-proclaimed Froyo fanatic.
With Froyo’s vast selection of flavors, Twitter users can now trade anything from classic popsicles to trendy frozen yogurt creations with just a few clicks.
“We think this partnership will really melt the competition,” said Flava Flav, CEO of Froyo. “We’re excited to see what flavors become the hottest items on the market.”
Only time will tell which flavors will rise to the top, but one thing’s for sure: the ice cream truck war is about to heat up.
