Blame Game: Mother Nature Takes Heat For Decreased Clothing Demand Amid Rainy Season

In a shocking twist of events, department stores and clothing shops are pointing fingers at none other than Mother Nature herself for a sudden decrease in demand for their products. We spoke with Stacey, a sales associate at the popular store, Faux Mart, who shared her thoughts on the matter.

“I mean, come on! Of course people aren’t shopping as much when it’s raining all the time. Who wants to drag themselves out of bed and trudge through puddles just to buy a new outfit?” Stacey exclaimed, while simultaneously trying to mop up a puddle in the middle of the store.

Meanwhile, at the trendy clothing boutique, Ruse & Co., owner Molly was busy brainstorming ways to drum up business in spite of the rainy weather. “Maybe we can sell umbrellas with a matching outfit, or create a line of stylish rain boots”, she mused.

Across town at the men’s fashion store, Dapper Dan’s, manager John was equally frustrated with the weather conditions. “It’s a total buzzkill when we have to constantly wring out our suits and hang them up to dry after every customer tries them on”, he grumbled.

Despite their complaints, none of the stores have yet to announce a sale on raincoats or waterproof footwear. But you heard it here first folks- if you want to help boost demand for local businesses, just pray for some dry weather!
