Breaking News: Armando Iannucci’s new show ‘Sweep’ fails to clean up Veep’s act!

Armando Iannucci, the genius behind the hit HBO comedy series Veep, has recently launched a new show that failed to impress fans. The new show titled ‘Sweep’ features all the same hilarious comedy as Veep, but with a little less depth.

As fans eagerly tuned in to watch the first episode, they were sorely disappointed to find that ‘Sweep’ lacked the intricate layers of political commentary that made Veep such a success. Instead, the show followed the daily mishaps of a group of janitors working in a government building.

With characters like ‘Gloves’, the meticulous germaphobe who insists on scrubbing every surface in sight, and ‘Broom’, the laid-back stoner who can’t seem to keep his broom in his hands, the show tried its best to capture the same brand of humor that made Veep so beloved.

However, fans were quick to point out that the show simply lacked the same level of wit and biting satire. One Twitter user wrote, “Sweep feels like Veep on a budget, like they ran out of ideas and just decided to follow janitors around instead.”

Even some of the cast members seemed unsure about the show’s potential. When asked about the comparison to Veep, actress Lisa Kudrow (who plays ‘Dustpan’, the overworked and underappreciated head janitor) commented, “I don’t know if we can ever live up to that standard. I mean, we’re just cleaning up other people’s messes.”

Despite the lukewarm response from fans, Iannucci remains optimistic about the show’s future. “We’re just starting to scratch the surface of what these janitors are capable of,” he said in a recent interview. “Who knows, maybe they’ll end up cleaning up Washington in more ways than one.”

As for the Veep loyalists, it seems they’ll have to wait a little longer for Iannucci to deliver the same level of comedic gold they’ve come to expect. Until then, it looks like the janitors of ‘Sweep’ will have to do their best to clean up their act.
