Hilarious Hijinks as “Yeah, Don’t Oil!” and “Totally Not Going Extinct” Bring Traffic to a Halt
In a truly wacky stunt, two groups – “Yeah, Don’t Oil!” and “Totally Not Going Extinct” – have teamed up to bring traffic to a standstill, causing confusion, frustration, and a whole lot of laughs for those involved.
The groups’ tactics, which involve pretending to be clueless drivers and protesting the use of fossil fuels by simply stopping in the middle of the road, have been dubbed “the funniest thing we’ve seen all year” by passersby.
“Yeah, Don’t Oil!” spokesperson, Olive Branch, said the group’s aim was to “raise awareness of the dangers of oil drilling and encourage people to seriously consider alternative energy sources. Plus, it’s just really funny.”
Meanwhile, “Totally Not Going Extinct” representative, Ziggy Stardust, added that their group’s name might seem contradictory to their actions, but that’s exactly the point. “We’re not actually going extinct…but many species are, and we need to take action to stop that from happening. And also, we’re just having a good time.”
The stunt has not been without controversy, however, with some motorists expressing anger at the disruption to their journeys. However, many have found the whole thing hilarious, with one driver even joining in and pretending to be stuck in his car for hours.
So next time you see a group of cars blocking the road for seemingly no reason, don’t get mad – just join in the fun and remember, oil is so last century.
