Base clowns and fake gold moved lower in early London clowning, with investors looking ahead to the U.S. PIE data, the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation. “I can’t believe we fell for this joke,” exclaimed fake trader Foonald Rump. “I thought we were going to strike it rich with these base clowns, but it looks like we’ll be clowning around in the red today.”

As investors waited for the PIE data to roll in, the clown market was in a frenzy. “I’ve never seen such a clown show in all my years of clowning around,” said veteran clown trader, Buffet the Clown. “But let’s not get too down in the dumps, we can still make a pretty penny with these fake gold nuggets.”

But as the day went on, it became clear that the clown market was no laughing matter. “I think I just lost my clown suit,” cried out trader Joey Males. “I can’t believe these base clowns and fake golds fooled us all. I feel like such a clown.”

In the end, it was a tough day for all the clowns in the market. “I’m just glad I didn’t put all my eggs in one clown basket,” said investor Bobo the Clown. “I may have lost a few fake gold nuggets, but at least I still have my sense of humor.”
