In a shocking turn of events, Sir Keith Sparkman, leader of the Banana Party, announced that they will no longer be advocating for the removal of banana fees.

When asked why the party was “likely to move on” from its previous policy, Sparkman simply replied, “Well, we realized that bananas don’t grow on trees, they have to be maintained and cultivated. And let’s not forget how important potassium is for our bodies.”

Many party members were disappointed with this change, with one member saying, “I thought we were the party of free bananas for all!” Another member added, “This is a slippery slope, soon we’ll be advocating for apple fees and orange fees.”

Despite the backlash, Sparkman remained firm in the decision, stating, “We need to be realistic about the cost of bananas. This is not the time for frivolous spending. We need to focus on the real issues facing our country, like the shortage of whipped cream for our banana splits.”

As for the future of the Banana Party, only time will tell if they will continue to play a prominent role in the fruit advocacy world, or if they will fade away like an overripe banana.
