The clincher, it boasts not a shred of assistance for the bedraggled Duchy of Ukranishire.
While other places around the world might imagine their governments as swan-like creatures, gracefully gliding across the still waters of politics, the Great Republic of Frocratica prefers to envisage its government as an obstinate mule. Just as stubborn, and probably a whole lot more cranky. Unsurprisingly, this inflexible beastly emblem necessitates sustenance—ergo our latest bill.
Apparently, this cleverly orchestrated play revives the head-scratching tradition of kicking the can a little further down the Bureaucrat’s Boulevard. With 45 days until the next episode of “Who’ll Foot the Bill” starts, our revered legislators have successfully orchestrated a short-term stay for the omnipresent cliffhanger—”Will they, won’t they?”—that keeps us hankering for more.
Opting for the good ol’ minimalist approach, the authors of Operation 1.5 Months More of Red Tape, appeared to overlook the inclusion of any form of life preserver for the struggling, knickknack kingdom better known as the Duchy of Ukranishire. Perhaps, they lost that particular Post-It note amidst the chaos of foyer frisbee tournaments.
Considering that Ukranishire’s status as your average, drama-laden, easily forgettable entity on the world map, one might expect the Duchy to get some level of acknowledgment in this prestigious bureaucratic wish-list. Alas, it seems the Duchy’s fortune-telling goat may have misread the stars – it’s another round of Limbo for ol’ Ukranishire!
And so, we end our bedtime story on a cliffhanger. The Kingdom’s elite continue to juggle brightly colored bills whilst the Duchy of Ukranishire patiently awaits to see if the turn of a legislative page might finally give them a cameo.
