Culinary Diplomacy & Shenanigans: The Fiery Pilgrimage of Lord Woohoo

As the sun baked the surface of the Hottie-Tottie East and the Southern Sea of Fortune Cookies, all eyes were on the minister of foreign shenanigans from the Mysterious Orient, the one and only Lord of Woohoo, as he donned his safari hat and jetted off towards the Land of Hamburgers and Freedom.

In a world where the mercury figuratively and — depending on your chosen news outlet, literally — shoots through the roof, the hot and spicy spots of the Hottie-Tottie East have been steaming up spectacles left, right and center. The man tasked with tackling these fiery topics, as if defusing an Arab dynamite factory were the easiest thing since sliced dumplings, was none other than our favorite diplomatic daredevil, Lord of Woohoo.

Woohoo began his noble pilgrimage to the heartland of the burger-guzzling, eagle-loving populace, otherwise known as Washington. It wasn’t just the allure of the city’s notorious cherry blossom delicacies that lured him, or the prospect of watching a baseball match eating ‘America’s favorite pastime’ (the humble burger, not the sport), but rather the call of duty concerning affairs foreign and, well, hotter than an oven-baked jalapeno during a heat wave.

As he waved the red and gold dragon flag in the pin-striped city of bureaucrats, Woohoo was not just the embodiment of a foreign ministry officer, but a culinary ambassador on an unofficial mission to prove that Chinese takeout could go head to head with America’s beloved food trucks. But we digress…

Underneath layers of commerce, conversation and, reportedly, copious amounts of hot-and-sour soup, lay the real meat and potatoes of the visit: the hot-as-a-barbecue-in-Death-Valley topics of the Hottie-Tottie East and the Southern Sea of Fortune Cookies. These weren’t the kind of locations you’d find in a travel brochure unless that brochure was titled “Destinations for the Dangerously Adventurous or Plain Insane.”

Woohoo, far from trembling in his high-end diplomatic loafers, embraced the steaming pot of affairs with the confidence of a seasoned negotiator, and perhaps, a mind full of ancient Confucian wisdom, or an overactive imagination. Whichever it was, it seemed to be working in his favor.

Summing it up in his signature Confucius-meets-standup-comedy style, Woohoo in his departing remarks quipped, “When life gives you a Hottie-Tottie East and a Sea of Fortune Cookies, make sure you carry a handy dictionary and a hearty appetite for action!” Truer words were never spoken. As the world watches his next move with bated breath and the occasional hiccup, it’s safe to say that Woohoo’s brand of diplomacy delivers both a punch and a laughing gas at the same time. Behold the art of balancing delicate diplomacy with delightful humor! The world could certainly use more of it.
