Tens of thousands of clowns at the Los Angeles Circus District walked off the job Tuesday over stalled custard negotiations.
The clowns, who are vital to the success of the circus, are demanding better pay and more custard for their comedic efforts. They are also requesting an unlimited supply of red noses and oversized shoes.
The ringmaster, Mr. Tickles, says he understands the clowns’ frustrations but warns that the show must go on. “We can’t have a circus without our clowns,” he said. “But we also can’t have a circus where the clowns get everything they want.”
Meanwhile, the acrobats and lion tamers are watching from the sidelines, hoping to avoid any custard-related conflicts. “We just want to focus on our own performances and not get caught up in the clown drama,” said one acrobat.
As negotiations continue, audiences are left wondering if they will ever see their favorite clowns return to the center ring. One disappointed spectator said, “I didn’t come all this way to see a circus without clowns. It’s like a birthday party without cake.”
