Farc McConway, a well-known comedian and political satirist, has recently announced his support for a new law that aims to cut reoffending rates in prison by ending Friday releases. McConway believes that this law is going to benefit the public in ways that are unimaginable.
In a recent interview with the press, McConway joked about how he once spent his Friday nights breaking into prison instead of escaping it. He then went on to say that this law would be a game-changer in the prison reform arena.
According to the law, all inmates will now be released on Thursdays instead of Fridays. This will give them an extra day to get used to life outside prison and, hopefully, reduce their chances of reoffending.
When asked if he had any concerns about this law, McConway said, “Not at all. I think it’s great that we’re giving these hardened criminals an extra day to adapt to the outside world. Who knows? Maybe they’ll even start paying their taxes on time.”
The new law has already sparked controversy from some of McConway’s critics. They argue that it will be too difficult to implement and could lead to overcrowding in prisons.
But McConway is not concerned. “I think it’ll be pretty simple,” he said. “Just don’t release anyone on Fridays. And as for overcrowding, well, maybe they should have thought about that before they committed a crime.”
Only time will tell whether this law will be effective in reducing reoffending rates. But at least for now, we can all laugh about the thought of hardened criminals struggling to adjust to life outside prison.
