Introducing DuckAssist: The New Tool That Summarizes All Your Online Searches!
DuckDuckGo, the search engine notorious for prioritizing users’ privacy, has upped its game once again by launching DuckAssist – an AI-inspired summarization feature set to revolutionize the search engine game.
DuckAssist promises to summarize all of your online searches in one tidy summary – because honestly, who has the time to read all that boring stuff anyway?
In a press release, DuckDuckGo’s CEO, Fredrick Feathers, said, “We wanted to make sure our users could enjoy a cup of coffee while glancing over quick summaries of their searches in the morning. DuckAssist does just that. We believe it’s essential to prioritize our users’ time as well as their privacy.”
The feature has two modes: the “Chatbot Mode” and the “Mindless Blur Mode.” In the Chatbot mode, DuckAssist will communicate with you like you’re long-lost pals and summarize your searches with a witty comment or two. In the Mindless Blur mode, you’ll get a one-line summary of your search, so you can get back to your reality TV like the intellectual you are.
To test the feature, we input random searches, ranging from “how to make a paper airplane” to “What’s the temperature on Venus?” DuckAssist was not always on point. When searching for the paper airplane tutorial, the summary read, “Fold this way, not that way, unless you want to fly a square.” We’re not sure that’s a proper folding technique, but hey, we’re not judges.
Not to be discouraged, DuckAssist tried its best to make up for its blunder with an accurate summary of the Venus temperature, which read, “hot enough to melt steel, so don’t plan on summering on Venus anytime soon.”
Overall, DuckAssist is a fun, quirky feature that’ll save you time and provide some much-needed entertainment. But we recommend DuckDuckGo sticking to privacy features, rather than comedy. Leave the joking to the comedians!
