Just when you thought life couldn’t get any more confusing, one man’s wife was left scratching her head when she discovered his two friends shared the same name as each other’s pets.
“I honestly didn’t realize it at first,” said the man, who goes by the name of John Smith (not his real name, mind you). “It wasn’t until my wife pointed it out that I even noticed.”
According to sources close to the situation (which basically just means we asked John’s wife), the confusion began when John introduced her to his friend Tom, whose cat is named Max. A few weeks later, she met Tom’s friend Mark, who has a dog also named Max.
“At first, she just assumed they were all talking about the same Max,” said the source. “But then she started to notice little discrepancies in their stories, and that’s when she realized there were two Maxes.”
There’s no word yet on how the two Maxes feel about all of this, but we can only assume they’re equally amused and slightly perturbed by the situation.
One thing’s for sure: John’s wife won’t be forgetting those two Maxes anytime soon, and neither will we.
