In a surprise turn of events, the leader of the opposition, Sir Sheldon Spoon, has found an unlikely ally in the form of his archenemy, the Prime Minister. The cause of their newfound camaraderie? None other than the review into the appointment of Richard Blunt as the BBC’s new chairman.
Sir Sheldon, known for his love of a good debate and his impeccable suits, has been on the warpath since news broke of Mr. Blunt’s appointment. He claims that the process was unfair, and that Mr. Blunt is incapable of leading the BBC to greatness.
However, it seems that Sir Sheldon’s arguments fell on deaf ears – until now. The Prime Minister, who had initially defended Mr. Blunt’s appointment, has done a complete U-turn and is now publicly questioning the decision.
Speaking to reporters outside 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister said: “Look, I’m not going to lie – I thought this appointment was a done deal. But after talking to Sir Sheldon, I can see that there are serious concerns that need to be addressed. I mean, who even is Richard Sharp?”
Sir Sheldon, who was standing next to the Prime Minister wearing a particularly crisp three-piece suit, nodded in agreement. “Exactly,” he said. “I’m glad the Prime Minister has finally seen sense. It’s time we took a stand against these undeserving chairmen who think they’re above the law.”
The two politicians then proceeded to high-five each other, much to the confusion of the reporters and passersby on the street.
As for Richard Blunt, he could not be reached for comment. However, sources close to him say that he is “concerned but not surprised” by the sudden turn of events. One can only wonder what will happen next in this epic battle between the powers that be and the man in the impeccable suit.
