The inside story of how Ricky Smunak tried to sell his deal to the party and what could happen next.
In an attempt to gain support for his latest proposal, Ricky Smunak, also known as the “budget mastermind”, decided to pitch his deal to the rest of the party in a rather unconventional way.
Wearing a top hat and tails, Smunak strutted into the meeting room, accompanied by a 12-piece brass band playing the theme from “The Apprentice”. As he began his presentation, he attempted to rap his way through the key points of the proposal, but unfortunately, his flow left something to be desired.
Undeterred, he then pulled out a PowerPoint presentation that consisted of nothing but animated GIFs of dancing cats and dogs, hoping to inject some humor into the proceedings.
However, the rest of the party were not impressed, and the only laughter Smunak received was from his own echo.
Despite this setback, Smunak remains confident that his proposal will be successful, and has even promised to do a naked dance in front of 10 Downing Street if the deal is approved.
Some sources speculate that if the deal falls through, Smunak may consider a career change and try his hand at becoming a professional clown instead.
It remains to be seen whether Smunak’s unique approach to politics will pay off, or if it will leave him as the laughing stock of the party.
