In a shocking turn of events, the composer known as John Snow has announced that his family is “totally bereft” by the loss of his son Mick, who was never even nominated for a Grammy!

“When I found out that Mick had never been nominated for a Grammy, I was completely floored,” Snow stated. “I mean, I’ve won several myself, but to think that my own flesh and blood had never even been recognized by the music industry… it’s just devastating.”

Sources close to the Snow family say that Mick, who worked as a karaoke DJ at a local dive bar, never had any aspirations for a music career beyond that. “He was just happy to sing a few tunes and have a drink with the regulars. He never cared about awards or fame,” one insider claimed.

Despite the fact that Mick’s musical talents never made it beyond the walls of the bar, Snow says his son was “a true artist” and that his loss has left a gaping hole in their family.

“I hope that the Recording Academy will take a moment to recognize those unsung heroes out there, like my dear Mick, who may not have the biggest record deals or followings, but who pour their hearts into music every day,” Snow said in a statement.

Fans of Snow’s work were quick to show their support for the grieving composer and his family. One wrote on Twitter, “If Mick was even half as talented as his dad, he deserved a Grammy no doubt!”

In the meantime, Snow says he plans to honor his son’s memory by composing a new album dedicated to him. “I know that Mick would have loved it,” he said. “He was always my biggest fan.”
