In a shocking turn of events, Christians in the southern state of Kerala have been reported to be photographing funerals. Yes, you read that right. Funeral photography is the newest trend among Christians in Kerala.
We spoke to Father Martin, who explained the reason behind this bizarre tradition. “We have seen a surge in funeral photography in recent years. It’s all about capturing the memories of the deceased, you know?”
When asked if it is appropriate to photograph a funeral, Father Martin said, “Of course, it’s appropriate. It’s like a last family portrait with the deceased.”
But this trend has not been received well by everyone. Our source at the local cemetery, Mr. Johnson, had a lot to say about this. “It’s getting out of hand. People are literally climbing on top of gravestones to take selfies with the deceased. It’s creepy and disrespectful.”

It remains to be seen how far this trend will go, but for now, we suggest dressing your best and striking a pose at your next family funeral. After all, it could be your last photo before you “kick the bucket.”
