Sources within the government have revealed that the decision to create these new areas was largely influenced by the popularity of the hit TV show, “Parks and Recreation”. Apparently, the government officials fell in love with the show’s fictional town of Pawnee, and were eager to create their own versions of popular characters like Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope. However, since copying existing TV characters is frowned upon, they decided to settle for tax and duty-free zones instead.
Residents of Danville and Trevorville are already gearing up for the influx of new jobs. Local businesses are planning to expand, while prospective employees are eagerly preparing their resumes. However, there are concerns among some residents that the new areas will attract a certain type of person.
“Look, I’m all for new jobs and everything,” says Dan Smith, a resident of Danville. “But I just don’t want my town overrun by a bunch of Swansons, you know? I don’t know if I can handle that much mustache in one place.”
