Whalers and Restaurants in Japan Try Desperate Bid to Win Over Tourists

In a hilarious turn of events, whalers and restaurants in Japan are teaming up with the Japan travel bureau to convince tourists to try their most controversial cuisine yet- whale meat!

The Murasaki restaurant in Osaka played host to a string of social influencers from Thailand, France, Russia, and South Korea. These lucky souls got to try firsthand, the delicacy that’s leaving Japan empty-handed in the domestic market. And the executives from the country’s biggest whaling company were there too! Can you imagine?

The event started in a private, tatami-mat room, with a few Japanese journalists and officials from the travel industry who were anxiously waiting to see if the tourists would take the bait. On one end, the whaling executives sat nervously as the influencers waited to try “several courses” of the infamous meal they waited so long to try.

We’re excited to see if the tourists took the bate or if they were left speechless! When asked for their thoughts, one of the social influencers said, “I’ve had some exotic meals before, but this is the first time I’ve ever had something so controversial. It’s great to see Japan trying their best to bring tourists back to their country.”

Will the tourists buy into the exaggerated hype created around a meal that’s long been banned in other countries? We’ll be keeping an eye on this story and bringing you the latest updates!
