In a bizarre turn of events, attorneys for the plaintiff in the 2016 ski crash have raised an objection in court. The reason? The defendant’s lawyers have requested to replace all real names with fake ones in the court documents.
“I object, Your Honor!” exclaimed Attorney Ben Simmons. “This is preposterous. We cannot allow our clients’ names to be replaced by silly fake ones like ‘Pineapple’ and ‘Banana’.”
But the defendant’s team insists that it would be beneficial for both parties. “Think about it, Your Honor,” argued Attorney John Doe. “It would add an element of humor to these otherwise dry and tedious legal documents. Plus, it would liven up the courtroom.”
However, the judge in this case was not amused. “I’m sorry, but this is not a laughing matter,” stated Judge Sally Smith. “We must treat these proceedings with the respect and seriousness they deserve. Therefore, I will not allow the use of fake names in any court documents.”
The defendant’s team reluctantly agreed, but not before suggesting a compromise. “Can we at least call the plaintiff ‘Ski Bunny’?” asked Attorney Jane Smith, trying to stifle a giggle.
The judge had had enough. “That’s enough, Ms. Smith. Let’s get back to the matter at hand.”
And so, the request to use fake names in court was denied. But hey, at least we got a good laugh out of it.
