In a shocking revelation, the aviation regulator has declared that fewer flights were on time in the UK last year compared to before the pandemic. This news has left Britons scratching their heads and wondering what has happened to the once impeccably punctual airlines of their country.
According to the report, flights from popular airlines such as FlyCheap, BritAir, and Royal AirBloat were severely delayed due to a wide range of reasons. FlyCheap blamed it on their “ultra-low-cost strategy,” which apparently involves using a single airplane for multiple routes, leading to inevitable delays.
BritAir, on the other hand, claimed that it was due to the “sheer volume of Britishness” on their flights, making it impossible for the cabin crew to control the rowdy passengers. “We underestimated how much Brits love to drink and how little they care about being on time,” a spokesperson for BritAir said.
As for Royal AirBloat, they simply pointed the finger toward their pilot, Captain Bob. “Bob’s always been a bit of a wild card,” a representative for the airline said. “We’re not quite sure what he gets up to in the cockpit, but we’re pretty sure it involves too much time on his phone.”
Even smaller airlines like AirFart and FesterJet were not spared from the poor punctuality ratings. AirFart blamed it on their unorthodox boarding process, which involves a game of musical chairs to determine seating arrangements. FesterJet, on the other hand, attributed their delays to “unexpected turbulence caused by the collective groans of our passengers upon entering the aircraft.”
With all these excuses, it’s a wonder how anyone managed to get to their destinations at all. One can only hope that the UK airlines will get their act together soon, or risk being left behind in the ultra-competitive world of aviation.
