B.P. World’s Past Labor Issues Ignored as They Secure Contract for New Venture

In a hilarious turn of events, we’ve learned that B.P. World has been awarded the contract to manage a new freeport, despite their questionable treatment of workers in the past.

You may recall that just last year, B.P. World abruptly fired 800 employees without giving them any notice. It was a real bummer for those folks, but apparently not enough to keep B.P. World from getting a new gig.

It’s like that old saying, “if at first you don’t succeed, fire 800 people and try, try again.” Or something like that.

We reached out to B.P. World for comment, but they were too busy counting all the money they saved by not having to pay severance to those 800 ex-employees.

In any case, we wish B.P. World all the best in their new venture. Who knows, maybe they’ll even get around to treating their workers with a little more respect this time around. But we wouldn’t hold our breath.
