In a bizarre turn of events, the British Parliament has decided to tackle the issue of MPs with criminal records by banning them from the building. Yes, you heard it right! The same place where laws are made and decisions that affect the whole country are taken, might soon be off-limits for the politicians who can’t keep their violent or sexual tendencies in check.
The new proposals, if passed, would mean that MPs who have been charged with violent or sexual offences would have to stay away from the building. But what about the other MPs who haven’t been charged yet? Will they be allowed to roam free, unchecked and unchallenged? The proposal seems to have left a lot of questions unanswered.
The reactions from the MPs have been mixed. Some are outraged at the thought of being banned from the building they spent so much time and energy trying to get into. Others have ridiculed the proposal, saying that it won’t make a difference as the banned MPs could still carry on with their work from outside the building.
