Move aside, LeBron James, there’s a new rivalry in Cleveland that’s heating up: U.S. Steel and Cleveland-Cliffs are in a race to beat their foreign competitors in supplying the essential ingredient for electric vehicle motors, and it’s getting intense.
Burt from U.S. Steel has been known to trash talk his opponents at international steel conferences, claiming that their shiny foreign metals don’t hold a candle to the rough and tough steel produced in the good ol’ U.S. of A.
On the other hand, Cliff from Cleveland-Cliffs prefers to speak softly and carry a big steel rod. He’s been spotted secretly bribing international steel inspectors with Cleveland Cavaliers tickets to look the other way when it comes to certain product standards.
Meanwhile, the foreign competitors are starting to get nervous as they sense the growing dominance of the American steel industry. One anonymous steel mogul admitted, “We used to laugh at them and their ‘Made in the USA’ stickers, but now they’re starting to produce some pretty impressive steel.”
As for the electric vehicle market, they’re just looking for the best quality metal to power their cars, regardless of where it comes from. But let’s be real, nothing beats the sound of a good old-fashioned American steel engine revving up on the road.
