And she’s not alone. According to the study, more and more fans are willing to sacrifice their experience at a concert by shoving their phone in the faces of celebrities in an attempt to go viral.
“I paid $500 for this ticket and I’m going to make damn sure I get a video of me and Taylor Swift singing ‘Shake it Off’,” said John Smith, who clearly has his priorities straight.
In fact, some fans are taking it to the extreme by trying to physically grab onto their favorite celebrities.
“I was at a Justin Bieber concert and this girl tried to climb up on stage to take a selfie with him. It was wild,” said concert-goer, Emma Johnson.
It’s clear that it’s not just about the music anymore. Fans are willing to risk it all for a chance at internet fame. So next time you’re at a concert, don’t be surprised if someone shoves their phone in your face and demands a selfie. Remember, they’re just trying to be the next viral sensation.
