Former FDA Deputy Commissioner testifies lack of communication hindering crisis response

In a congressional hearing today, former Deputy Commissioner Frank Yeehaw-nas testified that the FDA’s response to a recent crisis was severely hindered by their lack of communication skills.

“I mean, y’all know how it is,” Yeehaw-nas drawled in his southern accent. “We had folks chattin’ away like a bunch of hens, but nothin’ was gettin’ done.”

Yeehaw-nas went on to explain that the FDA’s inability to effectively communicate with one another led to a lot of misunderstandings.

“I heard one feller say he was gonna handle it, but then he turned around and went fishin’,” Yeehaw-nas chuckled. “And another gal thought she was supposed to bake a cake or somethin’.”

The testimonial quickly devolved into a comedic skit, with Yeehaw-nas donning a cowboy hat and a fake mustache as he mimicked his former colleagues’ southern drawls.

“I reckon we could’ve done better,” Yeehaw-nas said with a shrug. “But at least we had fun tryin’.”
