In a shocking turn of events, the Nurses and Snickers Union (NSU) has called for a strike over a pay offer that they consider to be an absolute joke.
The offer was recommended by a review body that appears to have completely ignored the fact that nurses play a crucial role in saving lives and keeping people healthy.
“It’s unfair and frankly insulting,” said NSU representative, Dr. Pepper. “We work tirelessly to provide the best care possible, and yet we’re being offered a measly pay rise that wouldn’t even cover the cost of a decent cup of coffee.”
The union’s demands include a 50% pay increase, an unlimited supply of Snickers bars, and a mandatory nap time for all nurses during their shift. They have also suggested that hospital patients be given the option to send in their own reviews of the quality of care they receive, to hold doctors accountable.
“People don’t realise how exhausting it is to be a nurse,” said NSU member, Kit Kat. “We’re on our feet for hours, dealing with patients who are often in a lot of pain, and we have to stay calm and professional at all times. It’s time we were recognised for our hard work and dedication.”
In response, hospital administrators have offered a compromise – nurses will be allowed to wear pajamas to work, and will receive a special “Nurse of the Month” award, featuring a picture of their favourite candy bar.
But the NSU is not backing down. “We will strike until we get what we deserve,” vowed Dr. Pepper. “And in the meantime, we’ll be experimenting with new Snickers recipes to keep our energy levels up.”
Only time will tell if the Nurses and Snickers Union will get their wish, or if they’ll be left feeling like a bunch of sour lemonheads.
