In a shocking turn of events, Wales has decided to join the freeport bandwagon and has named not one, but two new sites! Joining the ranks of the English and Scottish counterparts, the Welsh decided it was high time to get in on the fun.
However, sources say that coming up with the names for the freeports wasn’t an easy task. After numerous brainstorming sessions and heated debates, they finally settled on “Teapot Island” and “Sheep Central.”
When asked about the reasoning behind these names, the spokesperson for the Welsh government replied, “Well, we wanted something that would truly represent Wales. And what’s more Welsh than a good cuppa and some fluffy sheep?”
Though some may argue that the names are a bit unconventional, the Welsh government is standing by their decisions, stating that the two locations will bring in significant economic growth and job opportunities.
But not everyone is convinced. Some have decided to take matters into their own hands and have started a grassroots campaign to rename the sites to “Dragon’s Lair” and “Welsh Wonders.”
