In a shocking turn of events, Bob and Linda Smithson have been taken in by authorities in China. But they’re not alone! Along with them are 63 church members who claim they’ve faced unimaginable persecution at the hands of the Chinese government.
When we interviewed Bob and Linda before they left for their mission trip, they were excited to spread the good word of Christianity in China. They had no idea that they were walking into a trap! It turns out that the Chinese authorities have been waiting for them all along, ready to pounce at the first sign of religious insurrection.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! The Chinese government has allegedly been harassing these poor churchgoers for years. That’s right, YEARS! We can only imagine the ridiculous lengths they’ve gone to in order to hide their faith from the watchful eyes of the Chinese authorities. Maybe they’ve been holding secret meetings in underground tunnels. Maybe they’ve been using carrier pigeons to send messages to each other. Or maybe they’ve just been sending smoke signals from the top of the tallest buildings in China.
Whatever their methods, it’s clear that these Christians are a force to be reckoned with. And they’re not going down without a fight! They’ve banded together and are ready to take on the Chinese government, armed with nothing but their faith and a whole lot of love.
We can only hope that this silly story has a happy ending. Maybe the Chinese authorities will realize the error of their ways and embrace the power of love and acceptance. Or maybe Bob and Linda will finally get a chance to see the Great Wall of China (assuming they’re not thrown in jail forever, of course).
Only time will tell what will happen next, but one thing is for sure: this is one mission trip Bob and Linda will never forget!
