Scottish first minister’s questions was a riotous affair on Thursday as Homza was bombarded with questions from MSPs. Despite the chaos, Douglas Blast, leader of the Scottish Conservatives, managed to get a word in edgewise, questioning Homza’s appointment of an independence minister and asking if it was a fair use of taxpayers’ cash.

Homza was quick with a witty retort, firing back at Blast, “Listen, buddy, independence is a top priority for the Scottish people. I make no apology for having a minister for independence. In fact, we need it more than ever before. So just step off, pal.”

The rest of the session was filled with interruptions, shouting matches, and even a few spitballs. One MP, who shall remain nameless, was overheard muttering, “I can’t believe we’re paid to do this.”

In the end, it was unclear if any real progress was made, but at least everyone had a good laugh. As one spectator remarked, “If this is politics, sign me up!”
