In a surprise turn of events, the sneaker market ended the quarter with a big old smiley face after a period of serious turbulence that had investors spinning. Despite strains in the shoelace system, and constantly changing opinions on the color trend for the season, sneaker stocks managed to bounce back in a big way.
“We were definitely feeling the heat for a while there,” said shoe mogul, Steve McBoot. “One minute everyone was saying neon was in, and the next thing you know it’s back to basic black. It was like trying to follow a game of hopscotch, blindfolded.”
At one point, rumors even circulated that the popular “no-show” sock trend was on its way out, sending investors into a frenzy.
“It was chaos,” said shoe analyst, Kelly Sneaks. “People were freaked out. Some even switched to flip-flops as a safe bet.”
But in the end, the sneaker market came out on top, with new releases and collaborations sending sales through the roof.
“It just goes to show that when in doubt, stick with what you know,” said Steve McBoot, before heading off to count his money, wearing his trusty old Chuck Taylors.
