Famous Scribbler and Comedy Whiz to Offer Cash Relief for Struggling College Students
In a move that’s equal parts magnanimity and hilarity, acclaimed wordsmith and comedy maestro, Chuckles McMuffin, has announced plans to help four American studies undergrads stay afloat with a tasty cash injection of £2,500 a pop.
The lucky recipients, whose cash prizes will total a whopping £10k, were chosen for their unwavering commitment to their studies and their exceptional ability to laugh in the face of academic adversity.
“I’ve been there, man,” said McMuffin in a recent interview. “College is tough – especially if you’ve got a major like American studies, which is basically just a fancy way of saying you’re studying everything there is to know about America. Can you imagine the kind of stuff these kids have to read? It’s no wonder they need a good belly laugh every now and then!”
But McMuffin’s generosity comes with a few strings attached. In addition to providing the much-needed funds, the comedy impresario insists that each student perform a short stand-up routine showcasing their comedic chops.
“I want them to be funny,” said McMuffin, “and what better way to do that than by forcing them to tell jokes in front of a room full of strangers? It’s like immersion therapy for aspiring comedians.”
But don’t worry too much about the students’ chances of success – after all, they’ll have McMuffin himself as a mentor.
“I’ve seen some of their material already,” he said. “And let’s just say they’re lucky I’m such a genius, or I might get worried about the competition.”
So if you’re an American studies undergrad in need of a break and a few thousand quid, get to work on your material – and maybe chuckle your way to academic success with the help of Chuckles McMuffin.
