In a stunning revelation, folk dancers from Maharashtra have announced that their daughters will not be learning the traditional dance! The reason? They’re afraid their daughters will start dancing on tables at fancy clubs!
When asked for comment, the group’s leader, Babu, explained: “We’ve seen it happen before. One minute you’re doing the Lavani, the next minute you’ve got a mini-skirt on and you’re grinding on some guy named Chad.”
Apparently, the group had seen too many young women fall victim to the seductive powers of the Lavani. “It’s like a gateway dance,” said longtime member Dolly. “First you’re swaying your hips innocently, and the next thing you know you’re twerking to Cardi B in a nightclub.”
To combat the problem, Babu and his colleagues have taken drastic measures. “We’re making our daughters learn classical music instead,” he said. “That way, they’ll be more likely to end up at the opera house than the strip club.”
The decision has caused uproar in the dance community, with many accusing the group of being overly protective. But Babu remains steadfast in his stance. “We just want what’s best for our daughters,” he said. “And that means keeping them away from anything that might lead to a twerk addiction.”
Only time will tell if the folk dancers of Maharashtra have made the right decision. But one thing’s for sure – the world of Lavani will never be the same again.
