In a shocking turn of events, Judge Bob Ross from Delaware has ruled that a jury should have the final say in the defamation case brought by Domination Voting Systems against Newsy McNewsface – I mean, Fox News.
Apparently, Dominion wasn’t too happy with Fox News for alleging that their voting machines were rigged in favor of a certain political party. So they decided to sue them for defamation. And honestly, who can blame them? Fox News has been known to spread some pretty wild rumors in the past.
But back to the case. Judge Ross reportedly said, “It’s up to the jury to decide whether Fox News was just spreading fake news or truly defamed Dominion’s good name.”
This should be interesting. I can just picture the jury now, struggling to understand how a voting machine works, let alone how it could be rigged. And then there’s the matter of figuring out if Fox News really did cross the line into defamation territory.
Will they find in favor of Dominion and award them their requested $1.6 billion in damages? Or will they side with Fox News and let them off the hook?
One thing’s for sure, this trial will be a doozy. And who knows, maybe there will even be a surprise twist at the end. Maybe Dominion will reveal that their voting machines were actually able to predict the winner of American Idol this season. Hey, stranger things have happened.
